MMTA’s Music Connect Program - Announcing a New Collaboration with Project Step!

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration, fostered by Esther Ning Yau, with Project Step.  Project Step’s mission is to provide “a comprehensive package of high-quality long-term training, support services, and scholarships intended specifically for children from backgrounds underrepresented in classical music.” Project Step students, who already study string instruments, will now have access to other instruction, funded by MMTA’s Music Connect grants, through the regular application process.

We now have TWO Project Step students who have been accepted as MMTA’s Music Connect grant recipients.  Their piano lessons (32-weeks of study each) will be fully funded through our program.  This grant is renewable by filing a new application; no one has interrupted study as long as need exists.

Still in effect, thanks to the generosity of your MMTA Board: any non-MMTA teacher who has a student accepted for MMTA’s Music Connect Program, will have their first-year’s dues fully reimbursed.

Please spread the word about this amazing program.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, throughout the year.
