Bay State Strings Contest
The 2025 Bay State Strings Contest will be held on May 31, 2025 at Walnut Hill School in Natick MA.
Established in 1968, the MMTA Bay State Strings Contest is an annual statewide contest for all strings students ages 6 through 18. This contest gives the motivated and hard-working students of Massachusetts an opportunity to perform at a high level, receive written evaluations from judges, and compete for awards.

You'll automatically be connected with our registration system on TenutoWeb.
After clicking REGISTER NOW above, click the "Log In" button.
Enter with:
Your Username is your Email Address (the one on record for your MMTA account)
Your Password
If this is your first time registering on TenutoWeb, the password is: musicteacherscan - You will be able to change your password once you log in.
For returning teachers, use whatever password you used last time.
If you forgot your password, you can reset it by clicking “Request new password” and then checking your email for a link to set a new one.
Then select "Forms" in the menu to find the Bay State Piano Contest registration.

Please Note:
For string students only, age 6 - 18.
Please read the Bay State Strings Contest Rules for complete guidelines and requirements.
All current MMTA members (except Collegiate Members) may register their students to participate.
MMTA membership must be registered by March 31, current year.
Non-members must pay a $100 non-member fee. To avoid the fee, MMTA/MTNA membership must be completed by March 31, current year.
Contestants must have been a Massachusetts resident for six months or more prior to the contest. Current residential address required for registration.
Contestants must have studied with the teacher for a minimum of six months preceding the contest.
