Composer David Ibbett will be presenting a new work for the Quad State Conference in Maine on Saturday, October 2, 2021.  David is a musical advocate for science and in this article entitled,  The Sounds of Stars he discusses his process and the relationship of his work to complex physics phenomena.

David recently presented Octave of Light at the Museum of Science. Octave of Light is a musical celebration of exoplanet science, created in collaboration with Roy Gould of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

Although originally written for Soprano, violin, and Piano/electronics, David has written a reduction for piano of each piece to make them accessible for students.    David offers the teachers of MMTA an insight into his work by publishing his reduction of Water Romanza  in our MMTA Newsletter.  Watch the full length version in the online concert at www.octaveoflight.com and enjoy the student version and full version of Water Romanza.
