Bay State Strings Contest:

Established in 1968, the MMTA Bay State Strings Contest is an annual statewide contest for strings students from age 6 through 18. The contest gives motivated and hard-working students of Massachusetts the opportunity to perform at a high level, receive written evaluations from judges, and compete for awards.

MMTA is proud to announce that Esther Ning Yau has been named the 2024 Teacher of the Year! Esther has been a longstanding member of MMTA and served on our Board for many years, chairing the Bay State Piano Context with huge success. Esther has also been completely tireless and dedicated to encouraging and assisting collegiate students in attending MMTA/MTNA events, such as the Quad States in various states and MTNA National Conferences.

You are all invited to celebrate this great honor with Esther, your MMTA Board Members and colleagues, at a Teacher of the Year Social Event to be held Sunday, June 30, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., at a Boston location.
